Are you beginning to notice fine lines on your face and neck? Do you experience hair thinning and hair loss? Are you seeking a natural, effective solution to combat signs of aging? If your answer to any of these is yes, you should consider platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment, which is offered at Lougheed Laser Centre in Burnaby, BC.
We serve the Burnaby, Coquitlam, Vancouver, and Port Moody with PRP treatment that uses totally natural “liquid gold” plasma collected from your own body to stimulate rejuvenating cell regeneration. This process can smooth wrinkles, promote hair growth, and leave you looking and feeling your very best.
What Is PRP Treatment?
PRP treatment uses your body’s plasma to stimulate growth in areas affected by aging or cosmetic concerns. The plasma is collected from your blood and separated to use during treatment. Depending on your targeted treatment areas, this plasma is injected into your skin or scalp, where it encourages cell growth and combats the side effects of aging.
This treatment is the perfect option for those seeking a non-surgical, natural approach to improving skin and hair conditions. It also requires zero downtime after sessions, which makes it a convenient choice for everyone.
PRP for Skin
PRP for the skin is a treatment option which can address a host of concerns, including wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, uneven texture, loose skin, and enlarged pores. It’s an ideal solution to the results of acne, which can leave scars, dark spots, and imperfections in the skin. It can even help fade hyperpigmentation and correct discoloration for a more balanced skin tone. Finally, this treatment is an excellent option to promote overall skin health by encouraging frequent cell regeneration.
It can also be combined with other skin treatments such as microneedling, which stimulates the body to produce collagen and elastin. It can also be used in conjunction with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar in the human body that can help your skin retain collagen and appear smoother and more luminous. Combination treatments add extra power to your PRP treatment to deliver your ideal results.
PRP for Hair Loss
Hair loss is a common side effect of aging in both men and women and can be caused by a variety of factors, including age or genetic-related balding or postpartum hair loss. If you experience hair loss or thinning, this treatment could be for you.
PRP is injected into your scalp where it stimulates your hair follicles and results in new hair growth. Over the course of treatment, which generally includes a series of sessions to achieve best results, you’ll see your hair grow along with your confidence.
How Does PRP Treatment Work?
This treatment was designed to be non-surgical, outpatient, and natural in order to offer an alternative to traditional approaches. In addition, it’s relatively quick, is not painful, and requires zero recovery time, allowing you to jump right back into your daily life after each session.
The first step is to sit down with your doctor and discuss your goals and ideal results. This is the perfect time to call attention to the areas with which you’re unsatisfied. Using this information, your doctor will be able to discuss a treatment plan in response to your specific concerns, and you’ll be able to ask any questions about the treatment, recovery, and results.
Before treatment, your doctor will draw blood in order to separate the cell growth factor from the rest of the components. It’s important to remain hydrated in the days prior to having your blood drawn, as this will help encourage plasma production in your body, making it easier for your doctor to harvest a good amount from your blood.
Your blood will be spun in a centrifuge at high speeds, which separates it into its different parts and allows your plasma to be extracted. Platelet-rich plasma is referred to as “liquid gold” because of its rich color and transformative powers.
Using plasma to harness your body’s growth powers is one of the best ways to get results that look and feel natural. In addition, plasma is completely compatible with each patient since it originated in their own body, which prevents any allergic reactions and results in a nearly zero-risk treatment.
Once your PRP extraction and separation is complete, your doctor will begin your treatment. First, you’ll have a numbing cream applied to your face or scalp to minimize any discomfort. Once your skin is numb, your doctor will begin injecting PRP alone or in combination with another treatment as you have discussed. You can expect an average session to last approximately 30-45 minutes.
If you opted to combine this treatment with microneedling, your doctor will use a small, handheld needle machine to create micro-wounds in the surface layer of your skin. These wounds signal your skin to begin creating reparative factors like collagen and elastin, which tighten and smooth the skin. Your doctor will apply the PRP harvested from your blood sample, which will look like a smooth, viscous gel, and use microneedling to inject the PRP into your skin cells.
Another combination option is hyaluronic acid, which can promote elastic, glowing skin by helping your skin retain moisture. Microneedling can help your cells better absorb both hyaluronic acid and PRP, allowing these revitalizing natural substances to have the biggest impact possible on your skin.
Directly after your treatment, you’ll likely notice that your skin is redder than usual. Your doctor will give you specific post-treatment instructions, and you shouldn’t do anything that makes you sweat or use skincare or makeup products for 48 hours to protect your skin as it heals. You can use shampoo and conditioner on your scalp several hours after treatment, but you should avoid chemical coloring or perming treatments for at least 72 hours.
In addition, you should stay out of the sun for as long as possible. Three days is the minimum, but the longer you can shield your skin from direct sunlight, the better. Taking these steps will ensure that your skin can fully absorb the PRP as your cells begin to heal.
Is It Working?
After treatment, you’ll start to see some light skin cell shedding three to four days after your session as the post-treatment redness fades completely. This means that your skin is well on its way to healing. You may notice small improvements during these first few days, but expect to see the full results about 10 days after treatment.
Wrinkles, acne scars, and enlarged pores should appear less defined, and any hyperpigmentation or discoloration should look lighter. Your skin should feel smooth and elasticized.
The best part about this treatment is that there’s no recovery time needed after a session. You don’t need to rest; you can pick up right where you left off after each visit. Beyond minimal redness directly after a session, there’s no visible sign that you’ve had a treatment, and the convenience of zero downtime is just another reason why this treatment can work for any person and fit into any schedule.
After 10 days, your final results will be visible. You should see improvement in your areas of concern and notice a new glow in your skin. Thanks to the natural sources of this treatment, results are proven to last longer than with traditional treatments. Your results can look great and last for up to 18 months.
It’s common to return for follow-up or maintenance treatments anywhere between four to six weeks or months after your first session, depending on your goals. You should discuss your treatment plan with your doctor to keep your skin in perfect shape.
Hair Treatment Results
Hair treatment results can take a little longer to materialize. Since your doctor will probably recommend recurring sessions over time to target areas of loss or thinning, you’ll probably see results anywhere between three to six months after your first session. It takes longer for hair to grow once the hair follicles are stimulated, but you can expect to see noticeable improvement within your first year of treatments.
Keeping Your Results
As you enjoy your results after your PRP sessions, remember to use other skin-nourishing methods to build on the success of this treatment. You can continue to use anti-aging creams or at-home treatments as your doctor recommends. You can also continue using acne medication or hair growth vitamins. And finally, the best way you can ensure that your skin stays healthy and beautiful is by wearing sunscreen and a hat to shield your skin and scalp from harmful rays.
Who Is an Ideal Candidate?
PRP treatments for skin and hair growth are ideal for anyone unsatisfied with mild cosmetic issues such as fine lines or hair thinning. Both men and women can benefit from this treatment, which has almost zero risks and offers excellent results.
A PRP skin treatment is ideal for those who wish to address signs of aging such as wrinkles, fine lines, loose skin, and discoloration. It’s also the perfect solution for those who want to correct scarring and large pores resulting from acne. Finally, it can be a good preventative measure for people who wish to keep their skin healthy and looking its best by combatting early signs of aging.
PRP hair treatment is a great alternative to surgical hair loss procedures. It can address both chronic hair loss from conditions like male/female pattern baldness and acute conditions like postpartum hair loss in specific areas of the scalp. This treatment may not be ideal for those who already have severe follicle depletion, however, such as a completely bald spot. You should discuss your options with your doctor to achieve the best results.
This treatment is a revolutionary approach to revitalizing your skin. By using the natural processes of your own body, your cells are stimulated to rejuvenate your skin from the inside out, leaving you looking your best. Its natural origins mean that you don’t have to worry about which substances are in your skin; the plasma collected from your blood sample is 100% compatible with your body, drastically reducing risks during treatment.
The results of this treatment continue to impress. While there is no permanent solution to correct all the symptoms of aging, this treatment lasts much longer than other options thanks to its naturally integrated nature. Each session builds on the success of the last session, which means that you can enjoy your results for longer before returning to your doctor to pamper your skin with another treatment.
You’ll be amazed to see the way your body’s own growth stimulants can give you the skin you’ve always wanted. If PRP treatment sounds right for you, contact the professionals at Lougheed Laser Centre in Burnaby, BC, to set up an initial consultation. We look forward to helping you reach your skin and hair goals!
Are you tired of tweezing, waxing, and shaving? If so, laser hair removal might be the solution for you. Since its inception in 1998, this hair removal technique has become one of the most commonly performed cosmetic treatments in the world, and for good reason. We are proud to offer this treatment to help our clients save time and money while boosting their self-confidence. You are warmly invited to discover if you are a good candidate.
What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a hair removal treatment method that has been tested and verified for safety and efficacy. This method beams highly concentrated light into the follicles of your hair. The pigments within these follicles absorb the light and subsequently die, which is a good thing.
Benefits of Laser Hair Removal
Among the benefits of laser hair removal are precision, predictability, and speed. When the appropriate light wavelength is used, lasers can accurately target hairs without damaging the surrounding skin. Predictability is another incredible benefit. While results vary from individual to individual, nearly every client will experience some degree of hair loss or reduction after a series of treatment sessions.
Another significant benefit of laser hair removal is the speed. Each pulse of laser light takes only a fraction of a second and can treat several hairs simultaneously. Every second, an area the size of a quarter can be treated. If you are having a small area treated, such as your upper lip, your treatment may take just minutes.
Am I a Good Candidate?
There are various factors that determine if you are a good candidate for laser hair removal. These include hair and skin type and the areas you wish to treat.
Hair and Skin Type
Some factors for you to consider are your hair and skin type. However, advancements in technology are making the lasers better at targeting various hair and skin types.
The desired treatment areas must also be considered when evaluating if you are a candidate for laser hair removal.

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder occurs when there is a problem with the joint itself or the muscles of the neck and head that control the joint. The temporomandibular joint connects the jaw to the temporal bones of the skull. Doctors do not identify one cause for TMJ disorder, but the symptoms may occur after an injury to the face or head, chronic grinding or clenching of the teeth, arthritis in the joint and movement of the disc in the joint.
There are several symptoms of TMJ disorder that may appear on one or both sides of the face. It can be very painful and most often appears in women and people between the ages of 20 and 40 years. The most common symptoms are:
• Pain in the jaw or ear area that worsens when the mouth is opened wide such as during a yawn
• A popping or clicking sound that comes from the joint when the mouth is opened or closed
• The jaw gets stuck in one position
• Swelling around the jaw and ear
• Tenderness in the jaw muscle
In some cases, the symptoms may go away without any treatment. However, if they persist, it is recommended to find a treatment that is suitable for your unique case. During a consultation with our specialist, your TMJ disorder may be examined and the proper treatment recommended.
Some of the most common treatments are over-the-counter painkillers, mouth guards, physical therapy and counseling. However, these treatments can only go so far. That’s why we are proud to offer BOTOX® Therapeutic injections at our office.
During BOTOX® Therapeutic treatments for TMJ, the solution is skillfully injected into the target area. Treatments are designed to be quick and convenient, even for those with busy schedules.
While TMJ disorder may go away without any treatment, it can also come back without warning. This is why it is recommended to find and treat the cause. For example, if the cause is muscular, surgery may not be your best option.
During your consultation at Lougheed Laser Centre in Burnaby, our expert may examine your joint and ask questions to determine the cause of your condition. In most cases, a conservative treatment like BOTOX® Therapeutic injections can do the trick. If you are interested in treating your TMJ in the Burnaby, Coquitlam, Vancouver or Port Moody area, contact us today to book an appointment and get started. We look forward to hearing from you!
Nothing is more frustrating than working out and exercising only to find that stubborn belly fat is not going anywhere. Thankfully, there is something you can do to help get the toned physique that you’ve always wanted. The experts at Lougheed Laser Centre offer CoolSculpting®. This treatment will reduce fat deposits in various areas of the body.
What You Didn’t Know About CoolSculpting®
CoolSculpting® is a revolutionary treatment that allows you to tone your stubborn areas, such as your abdomen and thighs. Here are some things you may not have known about the treatment.
1. It Began with a Popsicle
When doctors noticed that dimples appeared on the cheeks of a baby who was teething with a popsicle, they began researching the effects of freezing temperatures on body composition. What they found was that fat cells could be targeted and reduced by applying freezing temperatures to the area.
2. It Targets Only the Fat Cells
While you can’t spot reduce trouble spots on the hips or stomach with exercise alone, CoolSculpting® allows you to sculpt your body any way you’d like. Treatments are focused on your unique trouble spots to reduce the fat cells in the area while keeping the muscles intact.
3. It’s a Great Treatment for Both Men and Women
Because men and women store fat differently, many procedures treat the male and female body differently. However, CoolSculpting® is universally beneficial and can help both men and women eliminate stubborn fat.
4. It’s Non-Invasive with Zero Downtime
Unlike liposuction that requires downtime, CoolSculpting® is non-invasive and can even be done during a break from your other activities. There is absolutely no downtime following the treatment, and you are free to resume regular activities immediately following your appointment.
5. Results are Both Gradual and Long-Lasting
CoolSculpting® is an excellent alternative to liposuction, as the results are long-lasting and easy to maintain. Regular treatments can help maintain the look of your toned physique, especially when combined with a consistent workout routine. Combining the treatments with a healthy diet and exercise will help you have a beautiful body for years to come.

Spider veins, clinically called telangiectasias, refer to blood vessels in the top surface of the skin that become abnormally dilated. They get their name from the web of blue or red veins that frequently spread across your legs. These veins occur most commonly on the legs, but they may also appear on the face, arms, chest, and back. There are many different spider vein causes.
This is a common problem for people in Burnaby, Coquitlam, Vancouver, Port Moody, and elsewhere, and studies have shown that nearly 84 percent of the people have spider veins on their right leg itself. These veins can be aesthetically displeasing for some, but they can also cause symptoms such as itching, burning, heaviness, and fatigue in the affected areas.
Who Suffers From Spider Veins?
Small pre-existing veins become enlarged and dilate. These veins may be stimulated by several factors such as hormonal fluctuations, pregnancy, and estrogen-based medications. This problem is more common in women than men. Although the exact cause of spider veins is unknown, some spider vein causes comprise of:
- Genetic factors
- Occupations that require long hours of standing, such as factory workers, teachers, and nurses
- Obesity and being overweight
- Fluctuations in hormones
- Hormonal replacement therapy
- Blood clotting history
- Use of birth control pills
- Trauma or skin injury
- UV light exposure
- Previous vein surgery is also one factor
Besides the patchwork of red and blue veins that one can see through the skin, people with this problem may experience swelling, tiredness, or a feeling of heaviness in their legs.
Reduce Your Risk of Spider Veins
You may not completely prevent these veins from appearing, but you can lower your risk with the following measures:
Ease Leg Pressure
Try to reduce the pressure on your legs by controlling your weight and avoid standing for long durations.
Ensure Regular Flow of Blood
Increase the leg circulation and strengthen the muscles of your leg by running or walking.
If you often stand for a long time, use lightweight compression stockings. These stockings help in managing several symptoms.
Lift Your Feet
Raising your legs is another effective treatment.
Treatment for Spider Veins
If you are sick and tired of your veins, you owe it to yourself to learn more about your spider vein treatment options. Some of the treatments that can offer the desired results are:
This is one of the more widespread treatments of this condition. During the treatment, a special solution is injected into the vein, causing it to close.
Although many people opt for sclerotherapy, you could treat the smaller, reddish, fine veins with laser treatment.
Treating Your Spider Veins
Spider veins are largely a cosmetic problem, and you could leave it untreated if it does not bother you. However, if you are not happy with their appearance or if they are painful, come to Lougheed Laser Centre in Burnaby for professional spider vein treatment. HydraFacial® is a cosmetic treatment that uses state-of-the-art technology to clean, exfoliate and hydrate your face in one simple treatment. It is a multi-step, non-irritating procedure that improves the skin’s overall appearance. The vortex technology delivers multiple steps that leave your skin looking healthier, younger and with a more even tone. It is very gentle and suitable for all skin types. This is the reason why many celebrities undergo HydraFacial® before a special event because it allows them to look beautiful and radiant.
What is the Procedure?
This is a tech-driven process that doesn’t need to heat your skin with steam to be effective. The usual practice of opening pores with steam may cause redness because it dilates the blood vessels along with the pores. The HydraFacial® treatment loosens pores and clears out dead skin through its technology with botanical extracts, salicylic acid and glycolic acid. The dead skin cells, accumulated oils and other stuff on your skin are vacuumed away. There is no sanding or poking with needles. It’s very gentle and feels soothing rather than irritating.
The method for cleaning and extracting is done with the patented wand that contains the double-helix vortex. It contains two chambers. One chamber sucks out the dirt and dead skin cells using light extraction rather than rough measures. The other chamber pumps into the freshly cleaned skin the nutrients that soothe and hydrate your skin. These nutrients include vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and growth factors. Because the cleaning is deep and the hydrating is simultaneous, the nutrients can go deeper into the skin.
The first step provides a deep clean without the scraping of dermabrasion, the poking of needles or the pinching of manual extractions. Your face has none of the inflammation these other types of facial treatment may give. It’s so gentle and soothing that you may think not much is happening, but after the treatment, you can actually see all the dirt and debris that the amazing machine got off your face. It exfoliates the top layer of skin called the stratum corneum, dead skin cells, dirt and sebum that accumulates on your face every day.
The second step infuses the skin with the serum. There are several serums from which to choose, and a combination of ingredients will be created for your personal skin problems.
The third step is the vortex extraction that sucks up all the loosened debris and applies serums such as honey extract, salicylic acid and other extracts as well as peptides and wrinkle-reducing serums. The fourth step is vortex fusion that infuses the antioxidant serum deep into the clean skin.
What Does Having Healthy Skin Entail?
Healthy skin is part of good overall health. When you eat a balanced, nutritious diet and get enough exercise, it will go a long way to keeping your skin healthy. As we age, the body produces less and less of the proteins that give our skin strength. This is the main reason it starts to sag and wrinkle. We can slow that process by taking care of our facial skin with HydraFacial®. The main components of keeping the skin healthy are:
1) Hydration is the number one factor in healthy skin. Hydrated skin remains flexible and protects the body from UV rays, toxic agents and microorganisms. Among the ingredients used in HydraFacial® is hyaluronic acid. This is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and functions to hold water. If you drink enough water throughout the day, your skin can hold more of it to maintain hydration. Some indications that your skin is not hydrated are:
- Flaking or peeling
- Scaly skin
- Tight-feeling skin
Some tips for keeping your skin hydrated are:
- Avoid long, hot showers or baths
- Use a gentle face wash
- Don’t use deodorant soap on your face
- Use a moisturizer on your face after washing it
2) Texture and tone are the next important factors of healthy skin. If your skin is dull and lacks brightness, you may need to do something to refresh it. Rough skin may indicate that you have a massive amount of dead skin cells and oil on your face. When you have HydraFacial®, you will actually see all the grime that has been on your face. It will be vacuumed away so the clear skin underneath can shine.
3) Congested pores are the main cause of acne and other skin diseases. Exfoliation is the way to rid your face of the obstructions. Sometimes, the pores become enlarged and are visibly filled with dirt and debris.
Who is a Good Candidate for HydraFacial®?
The HydraFacial® treatment is suitable for almost everyone. Teenagers who have acne, adults who have acne and people with wrinkles, dark spots on their skin, sun-damaged skin and dry, flaky skin all make good candidates for the treatment. It’s even good for people with darker skin and light-sensitive skin.
The HydraFacial® treatment can be customized to address different wants and needs. It may be set to treat dry skin, dullness, rough texture and large pores. The greatest percentage of skin damage is caused by the sun. The ultraviolet (UV) rays break apart the connecting tissue in the skin so that it gradually wrinkles and turns dark. HydraFacial® can be effective for all skin types, including acne-prone and extra sensitive skin. Just some of the skin care needs addressed by HydraFacial® are:
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Firmness and elasticity
- Uneven skin tone
- Rough skin texture
- Brown spots and sunspots
- Clogged pores
- Enlarged pores
Whether you want a simple rejuvenation of your complexion or a more involved version that may include other treatments and technologies, your HydraFacial® treatment can be customized. Called boosts to the system, there are four main add-ons to a basic HydraFacial® treatment:
- Brightalive Boost brightens skin tone and reduces discolorations. It contains a unique combination of ingredients that inhibit the production of pigmentation for glowing skin.
- Growth Factor Boost restores skin health and reduces wrinkles and fine lines. The growth factors are proteins such as elastin and collagen that produce healthy, new skin without the fine lines for a more youthful appearance.
- Dermabuilder Boost is a patented combination of peptides that makes your skin look firm and smooth. It also helps erase fine lines and dull skin.
- Britenol Boost minimizes dark spots and makes the skin tone look more even. It contains antioxidants such as vitamin C that brighten the tone.
The Benefits of HydraFacial®
Now that you know what the HydraFacial® treatment can do, here are some of the main benefits of this cosmetic treatment.
- Immediate results
The results are designed to be immediate. From the minute you sit down for your HydraFacial®, the work begins. There is no preparation or preliminary treatments. You can have a bright, new complexion after one quick treatment. This is because the cleaning, hydrating and nourishing of the skin are done at almost the same time. There is zero recovery time required.
- No set recovery time
Zero recovery time generally means no major issues or burning sensations after the treatment. You can face anyone right after your treatment and wear makeup immediately.
- A new complexion
You won’t believe how different your complexion is until you experience it. After this treatment, the tone and texture of your skin are glowing and your skin looks firmer. Many imperfections such as blackheads and whiteheads will disappear, and your pores will be tightened. Brown spots will be reduced so that the tone is even.
- Healthier skin
You will not only look better, but your skin will also actually be healthier, especially if you have a HydraFacial® treatment performed once a month. The infusion of vitamins and antioxidants that go deep into your skin helps the skin improve. They protect the skin from damaging toxins in the environment and free radicals in your system. You skin remains hydrated so that new fine lines and wrinkles are prevented. The benefits will accumulate, and the results will last longer with regular treatments.
- It is customizable
You know your own skin and its problems and strengths. When you talk to our specialist, you can discuss your concerns and goals. Your HydraFacial® procedure can be customized to address your personal skin issues so that you get the results you expect.
- No discomfort
Many cosmetic procedures that promise to remove fine lines and wrinkles need to slightly damage your skin to promote new skin growth. While these are not super invasive, they may cause some discomfort. HydraFacial® gives excellent results in a gentle, soothing way, so you don’t have to deal with discomfort to gain a more youthful complexion.
- Consistent results
People around the world report regularly consistent results from this treatment. This is because the treatment depends on the unique technology, which is always the same. Some types of facials offer varying results because it depends on the skin issues of the person, but the HydraFacial® treatment gives predictable results for various types of skin.
Learn More from the Experts
HydraFacial® uses new technology to clean and nourish your facial skin at virtually the same time. This not only reduces the time it takes to have a facial, but it also allows the nutrients to reach deep into the skin because all the dirt and oils barriers are removed. Thousands of people living in the Vancouver area have benefited from laser hair removal procedures that allow them to free up time for less tedious activities than shaving, waxing, or plucking to remove unwanted hair from places like their face, arms, underarms, legs, and bikini area. Only a few treatment sessions are needed for the permanent removal of unwanted hair.
What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a convenient treatment involving the use of a laser to destroy hair follicles producing unwanted hair. The pigment-producing part of the hair called melanin absorbs the laser energy and the follicle is destroyed. Those with dark hair tend to respond best since they have more melanin present in their hair, although the technology has advanced and allowed even those with light-colored hair to enjoy results.
The amazing precision of the laser equipment allows us to target an area the size of an individual hair follicle. We can treat a single hair follicle or many follicles simultaneously. We can treat an area the size of a quarter in under one second.
Do I Need More than One Treatment?
You will need several treatment sessions to permanently remove hair in the treatment area. This is because each hair follicle will be in a certain growth phase at the time of treatment while others are in a separate phase. The laser needs the presence of a hair shaft to destroy the hair follicle. A hair follicle in a dormant phase will have shed its hair, meaning it cannot be treated until it moves into a growth phase.
Are There Any Precautions I Should Take?
Avoid UV radiation exposure for two weeks before and after your treatment so that the laser hair removal procedure is not rendered ineffective or there is any problem with your recovery. Do not undergo any other type of laser procedure in the area of treatment after your hair removal procedure.
Am I a Candidate for This Procedure?
The vast majority of people qualify for a laser hair removal procedure. We are able to treat both men and women of all skin types and ethnicities. Since the laser is attracted to hair pigment, those with very light-colored hair must be evaluated for eligibility. Ultimately, we can make this determination at your consultation.
If you are a resident of Vancouver who feels that you would benefit from a convenient laser hair removal treatment, please feel free to make an appointment with Lougheed Laser Centre. Darren Thornley, owner of Lougheed Laser Centre, was interviewed on True to Form, Crystal Clear Digital Marketing’s podcast that speaks with notable leaders in the elective medical industry.
Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment used to rejuvenate the skin. It can help people in Vancouver with blemishes that include the following:
• Wrinkles and fine lines
• Brown spots
• Rough skin
• Reddened skin
• Enlarged pores
Microdermabrasion can also be used to treat skin conditions like melasma or rosacea. Microdermabrasion is not just longer offered as a stand-alone treatment, but it is one of the steps of other treatments as well. It is a gentle form of skin resurfacing that can polish and smooth skin. A typical session takes around thirty minutes.
The patient should avoid tanning creams, waxing, and sun exposure for at least a week before treatment. The therapist may also recommend avoiding masks and exfoliating creams for at least three days before treatment. The patient should not wear makeup on the day of treatment.
What Does Microdermabrasion Involve?
The aesthetic professional will start by cleansing the patient’s skin. They will then exfoliate the skin with a special device that sprays tiny crystals on the client’s skin. The device also contains a suction that will vacuum the crystals, flakes of dead skin, and other debris. The exfoliation will also stimulate the production of the protein collagen, so the patient’s skin will be firmer and more supple.
Microdermabrasion is painless, so the patient will not need an anesthetic. Many patients simply feel as if they are being scrubbed. Microdermabrasion will make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, so the patient should wear sunscreen when outside.
Most patients will need five to eight sessions to get the desired results, and each session will be seven to ten days apart. There is no recovery time, so the patient will be able to go about their business immediately after treatment.
What is a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial is a cosmetic treatment used to correct a variety of minor skin imperfections that include fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, oily skin, sagging skin, uneven texture or tone, and sun damage.
A HydraFacial involves four steps, with microdermabrasion being the first one. Not only does exfoliating the skin removes dead skin cells, but it also makes the new skin underneath more receptive to the serums that the therapist will use later on.
After completing the microdermabrasion, the therapist will use a mixture of salicylic acid and glycolic acid to give the client a mild chemical peel. The third step is an extraction, during which the therapist will cleanse the client’s pores and remove any blackheads. During the last step, the therapist will infuse a variety of serums to hydrate and nourish the skin.
